A parcel that has gone unfarmed for ten or fifteen years is a different job. That ground grows up thick, and you cannot see the ditches or old fence wire in it. Clearing ground like that starts with the track skid steer. It knocks down the heavy brush and small trees first. Then the mini excavator goes after the stumps and digs each one out whole. The holes get backfilled and packed before we move on. From there the site can be graded into a building pad or a mobile home pad. If the parcel needs a way in, we cut and stone a gravel drive back to it.
